Southern Skies [Single]
Southern Skies
Smog’s a’ rolling through the city skies, as I sit here and hang my head.
Is the rat race all there is to life? Well, I’d rather be dead.
But I think back to a simpler time, when life was hard and time was free.
I’m so lonely for the days gone by in the hills of Tennessee.
Southern skies take me home tonight.
That’s where I long to be.
Where your good friends always treat you right.
That’s the way of life for me.
Sun’s a’ rising on the mountain top, as I awake with a smile.
In the stillness you could hear a pin drop. No one around here for miles.
The best choice that I ever made. To get away from it all.
No more heartaches, no more give and take. Just a pine tree standing tall.
Southern skies take me home tonight.
That’s where I long to be.
Where your good friends always treat you right.
That’s the way of life for me.
Southern skies take me home tonight.
That’s where I long to be.
Where your good friends always treat you right.
That’s the way of life for me.
