Little White House Blues
Little White Blues is a haunting song about hopelessness, inspired by Stickler's many work visits to the Dozier School for Boys in Marianna, FLA. Chatham Rabbits Sarah McCombie (lead vocals / banjo) and Austin McCombie (Gibson archtop ES150) lead the way on this one with Michael Prewitt (mandolin), and Steven Salter (harmony vocals) complementing the tune. The melody was inspired by Marshall Owens’ “Try One More Time”, c. 1930; From LP Blues of Alabama, 1927-1931.
