Biography
“Somewhere in the flatlands of East Texas a bar stands alone by the side of a straight gravel road. Where the road goes nobody knows, and where the customers come from, nobody knows - but we have all been there.
When the band plays the desert comes to life. Motels, marriages, sex and heartache – they can all be found here. From the harsh Texas rock sound of a tortured Telecaster, to the soft richness of a cowboy’s love song… we have all been there”.
This unique band is fronted by Jamie Anderson, the highly acclaimed Scottish singer/songwriter whose musical background includes the Chesterfields, and John Parish’s Automatic Dlamini, the band that launched PJ Harvey.
“The ‘High Lonesome Sound’ has returned with a vengeance. If the sound of the slow train rolling through in the night is enough to send a shiver down you spine, and the call of the west makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand , then you are in for a treat". Jamie Anderson is back in town. The years spent in lonely Honky Tonks and bars have paid dividends as the real sound of the Southern States is apparent in every breath and you can taste the heartache in every line. Pain, drink, sorrow and wry humour – it’s all there. With a fresh line up of renowned and talented swiss and french musicians, living in the south west of France, this is the real thing.”
