"I wrote “Waiting in Vain” after watching a British historical period drama series I became obsessed with on PBS called Poldark. Its It's written from the perspective of a British captain's wife. In the song she is calling out to her husband to return to her from war. Like so many military wives in the past and today I wanted to capture the agonizing pain one may feel in this situation."
