Biography
This project was created out of love and respect by The Osborne Brothers for country music legend, Ernest Tubb. The execution of the album reflects the inspiration. Bobby, singing the songs he has loved and wanted to record for years, sounds as confortable and relaxed as ever. Sonny produced the project to insure that the band compliments the vocalist. The performance of the group – the band that Sonny describes as the ‘best band we have ever had’ – is outstanding. The interplay of Sonny’s gitjo, Gene Wooten’s dobro and David Crow’s fiddle is always on target as they work their way through twelve of Ernest Tubb’s great songs. The album also includes introductions of Bobby and Sonny by Ernest Tubb himself, along with some of Tubb’s homor as he chides Sonny about the goatee Sonny affected in the 50’s. These were culled from actual Opry broadcasts. This is a must-have release for fans of Ernest Tubb, The Osbornes, and all lovers of bluegrass and older style country.
