A mountain to climb


Lookin’ out my window at the rain a-pourin’ down, thinkin’ that it’s been this way for days.
Seems like everything I touch is falling all apart, and I’m lookin’ for a white flag i can wave.
All I’m really lookin’ for is just a ray of hope, and the answers that I need to find.
There’s a world full of people that feel just like I do; guess we’ve all got a mountain to climb.


When the road is rough and rocky, and nothin’ betters comin’ into view; don’t let it get you down.
If you’re not makin’ time, I guess we’ve all got a mountain to climb.

Then just when I thought that the bad was getting’ worse, and nothin's ever gonna change.
I see a battered soul who’s beggin’ for his bread, and the fatherless who only wants a name.
Then I start to feel so blessed to be a child of god, and know that his promises are mine.
There’s always someone out there who needs a helpin’ hand, i guess we’ve all got a mountain to climb.
