Monday Morning
Monday Morning was written as a balm to soothe some emotional distress that I was feeling back in december of 2012. It was conceived and written around march of 2013, and recorded in May. I feel like everyone has felt like this before, and you just want to purge that feeling out, and just be able to forget for just one moment, but you can't. This song is about the kind of catch 22 you're stuck in. You want out, but you can't. You feel stuck so all you can really do is get over the feeling and just move forward. This got me through it.
The bass line is one of my favorite parts, it moves me. Josh is such a player. And the backup vocals are brilliant plates of Megg's voice. Conceptually Brian and I laid back on the guitars to leave room for the bass, and when i did the drums, I decided on a more roots feel. All in all one of my favorite trax of the record.
This single off the upcoming release "Burn It Down" was conceived in fire and born of decadence.
Many years of trial and error and unabashed reverie, led to a concept of freedom, love, and community.
A lyrical calling to arms, a manifesto layered in a simple truth.... LIfe is long. Life is Hard, but it's worth it. Never Give Up. Never Give in. From the outset it was designed to empower, inspire, and help you let go.
Recorded at the world famous Woodshop, in Andover Massachusetts by wunderkind engineer Charlie Borruso and produced by the Godfather of Hybrid, Ash Berman, this potent blend of iconic reggae and hybrid rock is their most figured and fluid concept record to date. Mastered by Ed Martinez , the team at PAp records have delivered yet another modern classic, Burn It Down.
