WRITE IT DOWN
From the time, that I left out of Fort Worth
Climbing up through the sky
That jet airplane was my way out of here
To look for a piece of the pie
I found my self inside a tavern
Texas House was all it said outside
They were mighty fine folks
I didn't understand their jokes
It felt so natural to smile

We toured all across the southland
Took note of everything right here inside
My memory serves me well sometimes
There's things I just can't justify
We spent sometime in a bunkhouse
It was cold in Bavaria that night
We played for our dinner
In the log book I did enter
Stay out of Pullman City or fight

There's nothing like the life of an outlaw
Passin' those songs you wrote around
Beware of the danger, if you happen on a stranger
Always take time to write it down

Now the shows, were long and wearin' on me
But I'll sing every song before I die
There's a rattlesnake down in Munich I must tame
Before I set out for the sky
As I lay here with tender arms around me
Wonderin' if it was just a dream
I look around and feel the sound
Of an open heart and a mind thats been set free

From the time, that I left out of Fort Worth
I knew I'd come back and take my place
Alongside you songwriting refugees
Where ever you decide you want to play
I'm not that hard to please and just remember
You'll always see a smile upon my face
My time is wearin' thin and behind this silly grin
You'll find a man whose had himself a taste

There's nothin' like the life of an outlaw
Passin' those songs you wrote around
Beware of the danger, if you happen on a stranger
Always take time to write it down
Won't you Write It Down
