New Moon
Well I awoke long before the sun this morning
And I crept with silence out into the evening cold and true
To stroll around the air and to gaze at stars above
Not knowing what was waiting in the misty morning dew

Out on the trail I happened on coyotes calling
But I knew that they were over hills and far away from me
But then I heard a new sound, closer to me then
And I knew that something in that black night moved against me

So I turned to go back home but still that shadow followed
I broke into a run, I scrambled through the thick dark pines
And I became uncertain of the path that was beneath me
And that shadow followed still from behind

CHORUS:
What a grave mistake I've made
To be out here in the dark
I have no blade, my life to save
Lighter makes a spark, but just a spark

As I reached my cabin door I turned to face my hunter
But no beast did I see, just a sound that chilled me to my soul
‘Twas a chorus of pack wolves that bid me no return
On the evening of the new moon, lest they feast upon your bones
