Good Enough For Daddy
GOOD ENOUGH FOR DADDY

It was just an old truck with torn seats and a four on the floor
It had dents in the fenders and rust on the passenger door
Daddy said, “It ain't much” but he smiled as he tossed me the key
It was Good Enough For Daddy, that was good enough for me

I wear a watch that needs windin' and the casing is tarnished and worn
Grandpa gave it to Daddy the day I was born
And it kept him on time everyday until I turned eighteen
It was Good Enough For Daddy, It's good enough for me

He'd say “Listen to me son, don't you let anyone
Tell you what you can't do,
God'll never give you nothin' he won't get you through,
Believe in yourself and when you need help
You'll find it down there on your knees
That's was Good Enough For Daddy, that's good enough for me

The pages are yellow and tattered from long years of use
The words may have faded but they still ring a strong bell of truth
He said “The answers you'll find in this Bible are all a man needs”
They were Good Enough For Daddy, they're good enough for me

He'd say “Listen to me son, don't you let anyone
Tell you what you can't do,
God'll never give you nothin' he won't get you through,
Believe in yourself and when you need help
You'll find it down there on your knees
That's was Good Enough For Daddy, that's good enough for me
