Colin Cutler - Parker’s Back (Radio Edit)
5. Parker’s Back (4:40) Radio Edit
Based off the short story of the same title.
Written after listening to a lot of John Prine and while trying to break up with a long-distance girlfriend during a pandemic. Acoustic, with touches of fiddle and harmonica, and light country electric guitar. Parker (of “A New Tattoo”) finds himself married to a girl when neither of them much like the other: he likes his drinkin’ and dancin’ and sinnin’, and she likes her going to church and praying. Even when he tries to please her by getting an ikon of Jesus tattooed on him, she still rejects him, and it forces him into thinking through and owning his name and identity.
