10. Get Together: The only cover on this album, the Youngbloods’ classic “Get Together” has been part of the band’s live music repertoire for a decade. Always a crowd pleaser, there’s always at least a few people in the crowd who know every word of the song. Unlike the folk-rock original, the band’s cover is decidedly “Soulgrass” — it’s signature stew of folk, bluegrass, jazz, and rock with tinges of gospel. The band loves ending shows with Get Together. It has a great valedictory message — “everybody get together try to love one another right now.” It’s a successful Paula Boggs Band show, no matter how many are in the room, when audience members feel better, more hopeful, by the end of show.
