10. Swing Low: voice alone. From the singing of Western North Carolina folk song collector, Bascom Lamar Lunsford (1882-1973). This song reflects the Black spiritual tradition. While Lunsford accompanies his singing on banjo, I’ve opted for a soulful unaccompanied version with a slightly altered melody.
