9. Two Sisters: voice alone. A beautiful ballad that appears in different forms, notably “Wind and Rain” as featured in the film Songcatcher. Lee Monroe Presnell (1876-1963), a legendary Southern Appalachian ballad singer who appeared on numerous field recordings from Beech Mountain, NC, is the source of this version. Rick Ward, one of his descendants, continues the tradition of singing it today.
