Susan Graham Pepper - Rye Whiskey

3. Rye Whiskey: vocals, hand percussion. This is one of my favorite old songs to sing on walks through the woods. I decided to throw in hand percussion to give the embodied feel of my footsteps in the wood that fall behind my singing. The lyrics/melody are based on recordings by Frank Proffitt (1913-1965), but I have eliminated the banjo accompaniment to create a more sparse rendition.
