Jamie lived in an upscale neighborhood, not far from a shopping mall
With just a short walk to the local park, young Jamie seemed to have it all
But daddy lost his job and the will to live and his life just slipped away
Now, momma has bills she can't pay and this is all Jamie can say

And a million other kids on the street tonight?

Over a million American children have no place to call their home
Some are out in the cold with a parent, many frightened and all alone
Some are orphans, some run away, some are fleeing severe abuse
And some families are so poor, kids far too young are just cut loose

Jesus said, blessed are the children

It's the same as if we're caring about him
