Trying To Get Things Done
Trying to Get Things Done (J. Stickler)
My bed’s too short for me to stretch out / my blanket’s too small for to wrap around
My head is so heavy I can’t get any sleep / my mind’s full it keeps weighing me down
I’ve got a million things to do but I can’t finish one / my eyes burn in the Alabama sun
I can barely walk, much less run / but still I’m trying to learn how to get thing done
Loud noises come fast, sometimes they cause me fear / all noises most times demands my ear
I hear voices in my head when I sleep or I’m awake / but I stare straight til the lies disappear
As a man thinks well they say so is he / and he lives always daily in need
The truth it lies not just in what you read / it’s in life and things you do and see
I can focus on this that and often on that / then thoughts they tend to distract
And all my attempts to block out the world / fall flat and I’m left lying on my back
I’ve got a million things to do but I can’t finish one / my eyes burn in the Alabama sun
I can barely walk, much less run / but still I’m trying to learn how to get things done
Yeah, I’m still trying to learn how to get things done
I’m still trying to learn how to get things done
