Glory in the Meetinghouse
Up tempo old-time fiddle and banjo instrumental with George Bright on guitar. Cold start. From the CD liner notes by Fletcher Bright: "This is a fun, driving tune played by Kentucky fiddlers Luther Strong, Hiram Stamper and many others. Bill and I asked my son George Bright to join us on the guitar. He used a capo on the second fret and turned the E string down to D. I have heard fiddlers play this tune in minor (Dorian) and also in major (Mixolydian). Listening to the Library of Congress recording of Strong, I hear him playing a minor third (G natural) or maybe a third that's somewhere in the middle between minor and major. Most fiddlers today sharp the G."
