As far as I’m concerned, every album needs a murder ballad, so here you go! I will confess that this song was born on a cold February night when I lost the coin toss for taking out the dogs for their last walk of the night. I *may* have been a little bitter as I walked the pups down to the local pond, which had frozen over in the subzero temperatures, and I *may* have been harboring a few murderous fantasies of my own that night. I love what producer Doug Kwartler has done with this arrangement – we were going for something that sounded creepy and brittle (like branches and bones), and I think he nailed it!
