As songwriters, we all mine our own lives for good content, and I’ve been wondering lately where the line is between using my own stories for dramatic impact in a lyric and respecting the “no go” places in a relationship (“No one needs to know/About the push and the pull/And the hairs that we split all too fine”). Plus it’s fun to get a little meta and write a song about songwriting every now and then!
