Hutto
Hutto is the true story of the T. Don Hutto immigrant family detention center in Taylor, Texas, operated by Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), the world’s largest for-profit private prison corporation. It was written for Grassroots Leadership’s Campaign to End Immigrant Family Detention, which ended successfully in August 2009, when the Department of Homeland Security agreed to remove all the children and their parents from Hutto, and to rescind the RFPs for three additional privately operated immigrant family detention centers. For more information, please see the film Hutto: America’s Family Prison by Matthew Gossage and Lily Keber on the Grassroots Leadership website.
