Blood Red Moon
Blood red moon on my path tonight
Blood red moon witness to my plight
Blood red mood where you leading me
Out of these hills or to a rope in Tennessee
Leaves on the ground, a crunch with every step
I keep moving on, If I stop it will be my death
Had the love of a girl, but not of her family
She died while with child, now her kin are hunting me.
A chill in the air, I can see my every breath
Stings my lungs, like a dagger through my breast
I must move on, county line lies ahead of me
Down in the hollows, the hounds wont let me be
Is my race run, can I get to that next valley?
Suns coming up, shadows stopped hiding me
Ill sit right here while the moon is sinking low
Will I catch my breath or be the last sight I’ll ever know?
