Two dates—1890 and 1973—are the basis of this song that tells of significant events in history and how they connect. The lyric “you can’t take land from a good guy, so call him a savage and all is justified” comes from a Native American speaker I heard many years ago and I cannot remember their identity. My sincere apologies for that omission but thank you for that influential statement.
