Biography
“American folk music washes gently against Americana… a terrific release from a major singer.” This is how multi-award-winning Carol Markstrom’s music is described by Country Music People Magazine. Across the U.S. to the far north of Alaska and to Europe, audiences have been entertained by Carol’s clear, emotion-filled vocals and songs that transport to other places, times, and people. Carol’s songs tap into Folk, Western Roots, Americana, and Country. Her ballads and love songs range from whimsical to bittersweet, and the beauty of places inspires some of her songwriting. Indigenous peoples and their cultures also influence Carol’s songwriting resulting in her being recognized by the Native American Music Association and Spirit Wind Records. Her songs have been included in films and she has won music credits from Europe to the U.S. Her songs are played by DJs throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
