Sarah Cade - Wisdom
Wisdom
Caught up in this rat race
Struggling to get ahead
All we need’s outside
But we can’t get up out of bed

Computer screens and gadgets
Give information instantly
Put our minds in overload
Fill our hearts with misery

Just slow it down
Put your bare feet on the ground
Close your eyes, harmonize
With mother nature’s sounds
Have you ever really listened
To the whisper of the trees
Have you ever felt the spirit
Stirring in the breeze
Do you know the ancient wisdom
Are you still enough to hear
Our church is all around us
In the wonders we have here

Our spirits take a beating
And most of us feel down
We dull it with prescription drugs
We Wash it down with Crown

Those 80 hour work weeks
Might bring notoriety
Fill our days, collect our pay
We still feel so lonely

Just slow it down
Put your bare feet on the ground
Close your eyes, harmonize
With mother nature’s sounds
Have you ever really listened
To the whisper of the trees
Have you ever felt the spirit
Moving in the breeze
Do you know the ancient wisdom
Are you still enough to hear
Our church is all around us
In the wonders we have here

As kids we played outside
Our open hearts were free
The big sunshine, the fresh clean air
Daydreams of who we’d be

We lost the wonder somewhere
Our ability to dream
Out of touch with Mother Earth
These things we can redeem
These things we can redeem

Just slow it down
Put your bare feet on the ground
Close your eyes, harmonize
With mother nature’s sounds
Have you ever really listened
To the whisper of the trees
Have you ever felt the spirit
It can bring you to your knees
Do you know the ancient wisdom
Are you still enough to hear
Our church is all around us
In the wonders we have here

Our church is all around us
In the wonders we have here
