GRUNDY, VA - Americana/Folk songstress, Sandy Shortridge, is releasing a new single this week. The moving cover of "Danny's Song" highlights Sandy's well known vocal prowess for story telling with this emotional tune. This is Sandy's first release since 2018, and will serve as a first single for a forthcoming album.

Sandy Shortridge is an acclaimed singer songwriter in the roots music industry, having penned hit songs for Larry Sparks, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers and others. From roots deep in the hills of Southwest Virginia, mountain music runs through her veins, and although Sandy is accustomed to original music, "Danny's Song" has always been close to her heart, and now more than ever.

"I felt closer to 'Danny's Song' than I ever have in these last months. Possibly due to rising from the ashes of the Covid shutdown, the financial distress, and all of the unrest in our country over politics and violence of all sorts. I just think the words are so meaningful and relatable to everything we have all been through and are experiencing.
