Remember Rose: Song For Choice
Throughout the past 20 years, Sandy Rapp has sung Remember Rose at hundreds of Pro-Choice events, including the million-plus 2004 March For Womens Lives in Washington, DC. Its about a Mexican American woman who became the first back-street surgery death to follow the 1977 Medicaid Abortion funding cutoff. One line, a chill wind blows, is a direct quote from US Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmuns dissent to the infamous 1989 Webster decision which began the erosion of his historic Roe v. Wade decision.
