A close friend of mine has been struggling with alcohol and drug abuse for most of her adult life. There was about a six-month period where she was completely sober and became so depressed about not being able to live in that world of escape. She said the words to me, “I don’t want to die, but I don’t want to live like this.” Those words inspired the song ‘Living and Dying.’
