An old friend from my high school
She left two grown kids and a dog behind
I guess life got the best of her last June
From the looks of it I thought she was doing fine

If the guardian angels aren’t here to save us
Will the gates of heaven open wide for everyone?
There are demons and dark places
Are we soldiers falling down one by one?
Am I faithless?

My little sister is tough down to the bone
Fighting from the trenches all her life
Looking back now, I guess I should’ve known
Her living hell was right there in her eyes
