Some people thrive
While others barely get by
I’ve got a big hour in a safe neighborhood
While my brother is living for the next high

I had dinner the other night
With an old friend from Santa Fe
Her cozy cabin on the river had been swallowed by
Wildfire that got carried away

Me I’m sitting here longing for
The Garden left behind
But there’s no fruit left on the vine
God is up there watching me stumble
I wonder if I’m doing enough
I wish I could rise up and walk
Like Lazarus

When I was a little girl
I thought I was brave when I was breaking the rules
Now the children of today can’t go outside and play
They’re afraid to walk into school

Chorus

Maybe if I pray a little harder for the rain
its gonna fall
Maybe if I wait for the seasons to change
These big things will be resolved

Me I’m sitting here longing for
The Garden left behind
Lettin’ the world pass me by
God is up there watching me stumble
I wonder if I’m doing enough
I wish I could rise up and walk Like Lazarus
