Carolina Line (single)
I left home for Bluefield West Virginia
And worked my way up to Ohio
Settled for a spell in Cincinnati
Then Hitched a ride on a Paddle boat
Took the Delta Queen on down the river
Rode the Mississippi for a while
Got off at the gateway in St. Louis
And Then I started counting up the miles
So I’m thumbing my way through old Kentucky
Dreaming of the hills I left behind
I’ve traveled everywhere but nothing can compare
To my home across that Carolina Line
Sometimes you’ve got run around in circles
Before you realize what you have left
I’m gonna leave my rambling days behind me
I’m Headed back to the place that I love the best
Tonight with every mile I’m getting closer
To that little mountain home of mine
Now I know that everything I wanted
Is waiting cross that Carolina Line
So I’m thumbing my way through old Kentucky
Dreaming of the hills I left behind
I’ve traveled everywhere but nothing can compare
To my home across that Carolina Line
Now I’m thumbing my way through old Kentucky
Dreaming of the hills I left behind
I’ve traveled everywhere but nothing can compare
To my home across that Carolina Line
I’ve traveled everywhere but nothing can compare
To my home across that Carolina Line
