LESS ABOUT THE CASH
Writer: Richard Aberdeen ASCAP
Publisher: Freedom Tracks Music ASCAP

Wish a buck was still silver was still played on the radio
And music had the balls to tell all the politicians where they can go
Wish the words had something to say for folks struggling to get by today
More like Merle and Emmylou, less rehash pickup trash
More like Dolly and Johnny and a little less about the cash

Maybe in this land made for you and me
We need to build a wall around DC
So the rest of us still have a chance of being free

Yeah, you know Merle didn't claim to be that much of a saint
But Lord knows you're either on the side
Of the common folks. . . or you ain't

Wish a buck was still silver was still played on the radio
And music had the balls to tell all the politicians where they can go
Wish the words had something to say for folks struggling to get by today
More like Merle and Emmylou, less rehash pickup trash
More like Dolly and Johnny and a little less about the cash
Songs to lift up folks like you and me and a little less about the cash
