RubyJoyful - Fiddler’s Lament
Tuesday morning, high in the Rockies, peak of COVID. Just wanted to write a song about a fiddler. That simple. Look around you. What do you see? Sunlight, wood burning stove, pickin’ chairs from the night before. All that is needed is a little poetry, imagination, and manufactured tragedy. Bring on a bit of Irish seafaring swing and you’ve got a catchy tune that sticks in your head after you’ve heard it. Our dream is that someday fiddlers around the world will sing this late into the night around their own wood stove or campfires. It doesn’t hurt that arguably one of the best fiddle players and one of the best Dobro players in the country are laying down licks over each other. There’s a dream for you.
