Tortured Souls
Tortured Souls
Little Susie, I did not know,
The pain you went through on that night so cold.
Little Susie I did not see,
What they did to you they’ve done to me.
How I miss your warm sweet smile,
I’ll see you again in a little while.
Oooh in a little while.
A little child with a black eye,
bruises that she can’t hide.
Can’t kick the ball quite far enough,
so dad beat him as he cried.
Wonder what little Susie did,
to die before fifteen.
I’ll bet she’s looking down on me,
only now there is no pain.
Sometimes it’s hard to understand,
so much they do not know.
We never knew the reasons why,
we became the tortured souls.
The tortured souls, the tortured souls
So much hope lost along the way,
only we can make it stop.
Someday there will be an end,
and they’ll be judged for what they’ve done.
