Disappearing
Rocky Alvey & Anna Wolfe © 2008

Locked inside a silent world her mind is far away
She is trying hard to grasp a piece of some distant yesterday
I tell her things she once knew but I’m not sure if she is hearing
it's hard to know what I should do as she is disappearing

Thumbing through old photographs on the night stand by her bed
I am holding her life's history in my hands and in my head
So much of her I didn't know as I watch the darkness nearing
I weep for stories left untold as she is disappearing

Chorus
Disappearing, treasured moments slowly fade away
Disappearing, dissolving like a ghost into the grey
remembering her love in life will help to ease this pain
I wonder if she’ll disappear today

Our soul is life’s museum of collected memories
and we possess nothing more than moments such as these
Remembering her joy in life on this dark path I am fearing
Her strength and love will be my light as she is disappearing
