Sarah McLachlan and Simple Minds collaborated on this song by having their drummer Mike Ogletree do a remix and add his awesome drums and mammoth production to Sarah’s smoking vocal arrangement of the classic Christmas song “Noel (Mary/Mary)”. The instrumentation has been completely reworked to get a more upbeat feel throughout. New musical textures and colors were created and added to match Sarah's delivery as she tells the Christmas story in her unique way. Travel with Sarah and Mike on a musical journey which starts with the western Christian celebration of Jesus' birth, church bells and all, to the event itself in Bethlehem in the Middle East and ultimately to Africa, source of all.
