Forgive Me Sera

Well they put me in the jail in Nuevo Laredo last night
Federales came and put me in a black & white
I was runnin reds with Bohemia on my breath
With a pain in my heart and a poundin in my chest

I was on my way down south on the 85
But down here they get their gringo dead or alive
I used my only call to ask my dad for help
He said it’s been 21 years son you’re gonna have to help yourself

So please forgive me Sera one more time
I’m just tryin’ to get a little further down the line
I know I swore I’d make it through to you
But forgive me Sera I just don’t know what to do

Now when I got out I had no money and I had no gas
Made my way through the Balsas and along the tracks
And I hopped on the first Groupo that I found
But it took me northeast through Allende and the border towns

Now I don’t mean to let you down
Please forgive me Sera when I say
That trouble follows me from town to town
But I’ll make it back into your arms someday

I got a ride from a hack driver down the road
And I ran when I couldn’t pay him what I owed
Now I’m stumblin’ into town hope you’re still around
I can hear the sirens blown’ a familiar sound
