“Imprints,” opens with a rush of wind as vocalizations by Seattle-based singer Angela Sterling Forest beckon to the listener. The swirling, free-form vocals become sirens that lure you away, as a flute-like voice then lilting violas play pied piper to your now mesmerized sensibilities. The voices swell and bring you back, as you meditate on the theme. Then the strings, stronger now, take the forefront. Vocals and violas call and answer, their interplay weaving in and out of your very essence. Finally arriving at this new emotional destination, she calls out once more, and is gone.
