The Rooster Song
“The "Rooster Song" also known as “They’re Layin’ Eggs Now” first appeared on an old 78, Bob Gibson found it in the public domain realm and brought it to the folk arena in the 1950’s. The original version was a live recording sung and played (on piano) by somebody like Victor Borge or Spike Jones or some other then-popular musical-comedy act, doing it in front of a raucous audience.
