"This recitation focuses on the historic sacrifice of one family revealed in an innocent adventure shared by a grandfather and his young grandson Robbie. It was inspired by the flood of flags displayed across the United States following the September 11, 2001 attacks. I performed it once in conjunction with a continuing patriotic Festival of Flags celebration offered bi-annually in my hometown of Ringgold, Ga. honoring deceased veterans. The youth singers and musicians help me give it a classic Johnny Cash feel." Randall Franks
