SONG WRITING
Question: Is it true that you have written entire songs in thirty minutes?

Answer: “Well, I’ve worked longer than 30 minutes on a lot of occasions. I would sit down to write - usually with a co-writer and we would work for maybe a week or two and everything we wrote wasn’t really very good or we didn’t get anywhere. And all of a sudden, inspiration came and most of the songs took about 20 to 30 minutes - the good ones. The bad ones we worked on for about six months. Songs are gifts, you know; they’re blessings that just sort of drop in your lap. If God’s good to you, you get the song when he wants you to get it. But I always look at my co-writer and shake his hand, and I look u p and say thanks, and there it is right between us.”
