Biography

Whats up world? First let me introduce myself, I go by the name of Reap born September 12, 1979 in Bellflower, California. I am twenty-seven years of age now and I am a Chicago Rap Artist. I am of Puerto Rican decent. Ever since my younger years in California, music has touched me in so many ways! I can still sit and reminisce back to the age of six when my mother would have me come out of my room and lip sing for her and her friends. Since then, music has become a big part of my life, which I experience on a day-to-day basis. At about the age of seven (1986), Hip Hop/Rap was now starting to blow up and I was becoming a fan. Listening to all the different Hip Hop Artists back in the mid to late nineteen eighties have really inspired me to become a Hip Hop Artist. That era of Rap, was very influential and has light the candle that burns inside of me; leaving me to say to myself ..I CAN DO THIS! I have always wanted to be a singer but was not blessed with the vocals. Then in 1987, our family moved to Chicago to seek opportunity and a new way of life. This is when my love for Rap grew even stronger. I sat and compared Rap/Hip Hop from different cities across this country we call America. It was very clear to me that Chicago had a style of it's own, and a style that I liked a lot! At the very young age of eleven I wrote my first song. I kept that song to myself and did not want anyone to hear or listen to it. I thought it was wack Most of the songs I wrote at that time had no point or meaning to them; mainly due to the fact that my previous twelve years were spent as a kid growing up and playing outside like most young children do at those ages. Since then, I have matured and experienced many more things in life. I have gained more knowledge, experience, wisdom, character, relationships, and philosophies, frowns of fortune, and trials and tribulations to write about. Being a young Puerto Rican kid growing up on the west side of Chicago..K-town was pretty tough. But having a mother, father and two brothers who only want the best for you made it that much easier for me. Music has always been a part of my life, especially when your pops grew up in Manhattan being a Congero/Salsero and listening to every great Latin Artist you can think of, music was always around. I have had the chance to play at some of the most well known venues in Chicago, and that there is a blessing. I sit and wonder as the years pass where this whole musical journey will lead me to and who I can touch with it. To me, music is a way to escape from all your surroundings, troubles, fears and its a way to just express yourself the best way you can. My album a New Beginning sort of sums all that into one disc. I try and make music that my fans can appreciate and relate to. So for those who support me, I send you all of my love and thanks. I was put on this earth to serve a purpose and its being served to the fullest with 100% of my pure Puerto Rican heart.
