PITNEY MEYER is the inspired bluegrass collaboration of Mo Pitney & Johnny Meyer. Born out of jam sessions and music gatherings in living rooms, festivals, and stages like the Station Inn where Mo and Johnny have been playing a sold-out residency. With Johnny Meyer on banjo and Mo Pitney on acoustic guitar, they are joined on-stage by a rotating list of top-tier musicians, most often including CMA Musician of the Year Jenee Fleenor (Fiddle), Nate Burie (Mandolin), and Blake Pitney (Bass). Their debut record is scheduled to be released Summer 2024.
Pitney Meyer taps into the sound and spirit of Appalachia on the duo’s introductory album, Cherokee Pioneer. Friends and multi-instrumentalists Mo Pitney and John Meyer display their front porch sensibilities with banjo, mandolin and rich harmonies decorating 11 originals that explore the folklore of their ancestors. A blend of mournful eulogies and jubilant spirituals, the duo’s full-length debut weaves a tapestry of vivid imagery and complex arrangements showcasing a talented bluegrass brotherhood, whose jam sessions turned into a residency at Nashville’s iconic Station Inn.
