LATE NIGHT DINER
There's a late night diner at the end of the street
A place you can go to bring back memories
It was raining I took shelter that's how we did meet
At the late night diner at the end of the street.

I went inside, shook off the rain
The smell of coffee filled the air
I took a seat by the window
Her reflection caught my stare

I ordered coffee, he ordered tea
That's when our eyes did meet
I took a seat by the window and
He smiled at me....

YOu were there when I needed you
You were there when my heart was breaking
You were there when I needed a shoulder
But what am I gonna do without you...

We had quiet conversation the words came easily
But I had to catch myself from falling
In love again desperateley

As I gazed into his eyes
Old memories came alive
It stirred something inside of me
That almost made me cry

As he got up to leave I got up the nerve
To say to him "the coffee's on me"
I turned around he was gone with the rain

So I left the late night diner with a feeling so alive
It left something deep inside of me ……
"And I thought to myself".....
