Bluegrass Music
Bluegrass Music

In Eastern Kentucky where I was born and raised
Friday night Dad and all his friends got together they would play
They had a guitar and banjo and the mandolin kept time
People came from miles around and they would play til morning light

Bluegrass Music man it was movin' faster than a freight train going by
Whoooooooooo, three part harmony singing all those melodies
I could listen to it morning noon and night
If I'm home a workin, or drivin' down the road
I've got that Bluegrass Music playing on my radio

Now I'm up in Detroit a thousand miles from home
I ain't been back down to Kentucky Lord knows it's been too long
Well they say you can still hear the sounds from all those years gone by
Those voices ringin' loud and clear up and down that mountainside

Bluegrass Music man it was movin' faster than a freight train going by
Whoooooooooo, three part harmony singing all those melodies
I could listen to it morning noon and night
If I'm home a workin, or drivin' down the road
I've got that Bluegrass Music playing on my radio
