Guilt Trip
Guilt Trip

Dashing to the store,
Last minute gifts to buy
We’ve all done this before
We know the reason why.
It’s about receiving gifts
And having none to share
Oh what fun is to ride
A guilt trip every year.
Oh, shoppin’ malls, Santa Claus,
Idols in the yard.
Get a thrill, defer your bills
And max out credit cards. Hey!
Deck the halls with lights and bulbs.
The relatives are here.
What a joy it is to share
A guilt trip every year!
I know you hate this song,
Even though you say you do.
Somewhere, somehow, sometime,
This song’s gonna grow on you.
Christmas isn’t lost,
Far, few, or in-between.
We find Christmas
Every day in John 3:16!
It’s not . . . Shoppin’ malls, Santa Claus,
Or idols in the yard.
God paid our bill on Calvary’s hill
With His redeeming blood. Hey!
Lift your voice, and rejoice
Your redemption’s drawing near.
Christmas is not the 25th,
It’s every day of the year . . . Of the year . . . 365.
