The End digs into the notion that the end is also a beginning. They are always wrapped up with each other in a yin / yang, dark / light, male / female, past / future duality. The song's repeated paradoxical chant, "This is the end; Let it begin," is acknowledgement of this truth and clearly has a timely resonance in 2020. Between these slow-paced hypnotic chants, are spoken (shouted) word verses over up tempo music. These words recount some of the tumult, social unrest and political polarization of that unsettling year -- mentioning occurrences that indicate a possible emerging police state -- but ending with a fantasy about the shattering of the plutocracy.
