Good Mornin' Little Schoolgirl
6. Good Mornin' Little School Girl[b/] 2:39
lyric rearrangement by Moses Crouch
This tune was a hit for John Lee Williamson (Sonny Boy #1). It penetrated and permeated Black Culture in both North and South. At first glance, the lyrics may seem a bit problematic if you make the mistake of hearing them as told by a grown man rather than an adolescent schoolboy, as I always have. My version is inspired by Mississippi Fred McDowell's.
