Biography
Quiet Town was produced and recorded by Neilson Hubbard at Skinny Elephant Recording Studio in Smith’s longtime East Nashville neighborhood, the album was engineered and mixed by Dylan Alldredge and mastered by Jim DeMain at Yes Master Studios.

In support of the album, Smith will embark on a fall tour starting in October with stops in New York, Boston, Portland, ME, several shows out West, and a hometown Nashville release show in November. She will also showcase at this year’s AmericanaFest in late September in Nashville.

From her distinctively haunting cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” in 2003 and critically acclaimed 2004 debut, One Moment More, to 2012’s self-titled album, Smith has captivated audiences with her soulful voice and introspective, heartfelt lyrics. The celebrated Long Island-reared singer/songwriter’s debut earned her Americana Music Association’s first Emerging Artist of the Year award in 2004 and an Album of the Year nomination.

Smith’s songs have been covered by Lee Ann Womack (“All His Saints”), Faith Hill (“Come To Jesus”), and Alison Krauss, who recorded “If I Didn’t Know Any Better” for her GRAMMY-winning album, Lonely Runs Both Ways. Smith’s version of the song appears on her album Stupid Love and remains a favorite of Kacey Musgraves, who cites Smith as an influence

Her songs have been featured in Grey’s Anatomy, numerous HBO, Showtime, CBS, CW, and NBC series, and a Super Bowl ad. She’s also appeared on CBS This Morning, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, and Lifetime Television’s Women Rock!
