FROZEN

As I walked out Into the morning
Past the ice along the sea
I was haunted by my baby
The words she wrote when she left me

I was beside the open rivers
And the streams were dried with mud
I didn’t fear the cold or darkness
Or the threat of the impending flood

Oh evil deeds, I am your master
I can shrink, the sky at will
I walk among the living creatures
I never stop and I’m never still

Oh the winter got my baby
her blood froze up, llke ice blue steel
Yet all this time, all I remember
Is the sound, of her turning heel

I walked out, to the town at midnight
no light that ever shined on me
I thought about my long lost baby
How she slipped Into the sea

What is this mist I see before me
That blinds my eyes and freezes tears
This scarlet stain that rushes towards me
Through silent screams, through endless years

The flood waters, took my darling
Dragged her to the raging sea
Now still waters, no longer hungry
Rest, Far from uprooted trees

I can climb the highest mountain
Air that’s thin, don’t bother me
I can swim, the frozen rivers
But her ghost, won’t set me free
